Matthew R. Dowdell

Matt Dowdell brings a combination of legal, governmental and business experience to his clients at BOND│GILL│RULE. His career began at the intersection of law and public service, working in law enforcement and election administration in Arkansas and Oklahoma, including with the Arkansas Secretary of State’s office, giving him a grounded, practical perspective that informs his legal practice – focused on effective, ethical representation.
After admission to the Oklahoma Bar, Matt served as General Counsel for a small, independent oil and gas Operator and Producer. He then sharpened his litigation skills at firms in both Tulsa and Oklahoma City. Since 2012, he has been in-house with Phillips 66, where he remains part of their Real Estate Services group, giving him insight into how sophisticated businesses think about risk, transactions and long term strategy.

Community Involvement:
Matt is active in the Tulsa community through Christ the King Catholic Church, City Lights Foundation of Oklahoma Under the Bridge and Marquette Catholic School. He is a member of both the Oklahoma and Tulsa County Bar Associations. He serves on the Soleir LLC Advisory Council and as the Delta Theta Phi Legal Fraternity Chancellor for Oklahoma. He is a former member of the Marquette Catholic School RISE Program Advisory Board, Bishop Kelley High School Sports Hall of Fame Committee and the Johnson-Sontag American Inn of Court. He is a recipient of the Delta Theta Phi Legal Fraternity Most Outstanding Student of the Fraternity Award in 20004, Mr. Pi Kappa Phi Award in 1998, Pi Kappa Phi Alumni of the Year Award in 2000 and Pi Kappa Phi Silver Legion Recipient in 2019. Additionally, Mr. Dowdell is an Ordained Dudeist Priest.
Outside the office, Matt and his wife Jenny spend their time cheering on their three daughters at basketball games and track meets for Bishop Kelley and Marquette – and catching live music whenever possible.
